5th October 1932.

Hong Kong - Shing Mun Valley Waterworks.

In further reply to your letter M/SA of the 24th

September, all the officers referred to in our Schedule of the 16th September down to and including the Accountant Paymaster will be Class I and the remainder Class II.

We would make the following observations on your draft agreement for Class I officers (other than the Resident Engineer).

Schedule.

Clause I. As with the Resident Engineer's agreement, we suggest the addition of the words "but not exceeding five years".

Clause 2. Assuming the Resident Engineer to be the "Head of the Department", we would suggest that after the word "Government" in the second line the words "through the Head of the Department" be inserted, and the deletion of the words "through its duly authorised officers" after "Government" in the third line.

Clause 3 (4). We would rather Clauses 10 and 11 were

deleted.

Clause 4. We suggest an amendment as referred to in our comments on the draft of the Resident Engineer's agreement.

/Clause 6
